Lunging Area
-
I need to lunge my horse before I get on to ride him, is it OK to do this beside the arenas?
Dressage Southland has a designated lunging area which is sign posted on the grounds however it is not beside the competition arenas.
Late Entries
-
I have decided at the last minute that I would like to enter one of your competitions, can I do this?
It is possible to submit a late entry however it is subject to availibility and will cost you an additional 50% on entry fees.
ID Tags
-
I am an unregistered rider and have seen ID tags on horses halters, I am wondering why this is?
All horses on the grounds are required to have ID tags detailing the horses name, it's owners name and the owners cell phone number. This is incase the horse gets loose and we need to contact the owner, tags can be obtained from the office in the Hokonui Pavillion at competitions or alternatively at the Saddlery Warehouse or your local merchant.
Test Paper Collection
-
I was wondering what the process is for collecting my test paper after I have completed my test as sometimes this takes longer than normal?
For each class we need to collate all competitors papers, record their marks and have the judge sign off the results at the completion of the class before we can release any papers. However sometimes this could take longer than normal as we may be training judges so the papers must be retained for the judges to go through them.
Speed Limit
-
The speed limit around the Gore A&P Show Grounds is 10 KM/HR. Please respect this speed limit, it is to ensure the safety of all users.

Can I park along side the arena
There will be poles and cones being placed 15 metres from the closest arena. Also vehicles must be parked prior the first competition starting. You will be allowed to move at the lunch break and when the competition has finished. If you arrive outside these times please park out the back by the yards or by the hospital grounds. Your consideration to fellow competitors is much appreciated.
